HERBERT BURRI SLOW PHOTOGRAPHY
FOCUS on Interaction
I take photographs slowly. Not out of nostalgia, but out of conviction. For me, Slow Photography means taking time for people and places. I am less interested in the perfect image than in the encounter that precedes it.
Focus on Interaction is not a slogan, but an attitude. For me, good photography emerges from dialogue: through trust, presence and genuine interest. Only when this interaction works does an image with depth and meaning emerge.
I work both digitally and analogue – from the moment of capture, through the lab, to the finished image, preferably in its frame. For me, this is as much part of the idea of slowness as it is of the quality of the result.
Would you like me to photograph you or your project in this way? If so, please get in touch. I’d be delighted to hear from you.
